These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OppDesk ("we", "us", or "our") and the services available at oppdesk.com. By creating an account or using OppDesk, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use OppDesk. By using the service, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. OppDesk is intended for business purposes — evaluating, buying, or selling businesses. It is not a consumer service.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at hello@oppdesk.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.
OppDesk is a subscription service. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the applicable fee to your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.
A search agent is a set of criteria you define to automatically match against business listings. When you create a search agent, you grant OppDesk permission to run that agent against our database and send you email notifications when matching listings are found.
The number of search agents you can create is determined by your subscription plan. Agents are personal to your account and may not be transferred or shared.
If you submit a business listing, you represent and warrant that:
By submitting a listing, you grant OppDesk a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote that listing on oppdesk.com and in email notifications to subscribers. You retain ownership of your listing content.
We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove listings that violate these Terms or that we determine, at our sole discretion, are not appropriate for the platform.
OppDesk aggregates business listings from third-party sources including public marketplaces and business broker directories. These listings are not submitted by OppDesk and we do not verify their accuracy, completeness, or current availability. Third-party listings are provided for informational purposes only.
If you are interested in a third-party listing, you should contact the listing source directly and conduct your own due diligence before taking any action.
OppDesk is a discovery and matching tool — not a financial advisor, broker, or intermediary. Nothing on OppDesk constitutes investment, legal, tax, or acquisition advice. AI-generated match scores and summaries are provided as a convenience and may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are solely responsible for evaluating any business opportunity and should consult qualified professionals before making any acquisition decision.

OppDesk and its original content (excluding user-submitted listings) are owned by OppDesk and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from OppDesk's content without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if your use poses a risk to other users or to OppDesk. You may also delete your account at any time from your account settings.
Upon termination, your right to access the service ends immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so, including limitations of liability and indemnification.
OppDesk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular listing is accurate, current, or available for sale. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OppDesk will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or business opportunities, arising from your use of the service or any business listing found on it.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of OppDesk will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OppDesk from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your listing submissions, or your violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or by displaying a notice on the site. Continued use of OppDesk after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
